Behind the Lens: Photographing Our Spring Collection in Le Magny

Every collection has a story.

Before our British wool boot socks arrive on your doorstep, they begin their journey through months of planning, design and careful craftsmanship. Capturing that story on camera is an equally important part of bringing the collection to life.

For our spring campaign, we travelled to the peaceful village of Le Magny, where rolling countryside, historic stone buildings and soft spring light provided the perfect setting to photograph our latest collection.

Rather than creating an artificial backdrop, we wanted to place our socks in an environment that reflected the landscapes they were designed to explore.

A Landscape That Speaks for Itself

Le Magny has an effortless sense of calm.

Ancient stone walls, quiet lanes and open countryside create an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down and appreciate the details. During spring, fresh greenery softens the landscape while gentle sunlight transforms throughout the day, creating a constantly changing canvas.

It wasn't simply a location—it became part of the story we wanted to tell.

Every photograph was shaped by natural light, authentic surroundings and the understated beauty of rural life.

The Priory: A Setting Rich in Character

At the centre of the photoshoot stood an historic priory whose weathered stone walls carried decades of character.

Rather than competing with the products, the building complemented them.

Its textures, craftsmanship and enduring quality echoed the values behind our own approach to design—creating products that are made to be worn, appreciated and relied upon for years rather than seasons.

The setting reminded us that timeless design rarely needs embellishment.

Letting Nature Lead

Some photoshoots revolve around elaborate styling and carefully constructed scenes.

This one didn't.

Instead, we allowed the surroundings to dictate the pace.

Morning mist gradually lifted from the fields. Sunlight moved gently across old stone walls. Footpaths disappeared into fresh spring woodland. Many of the most memorable images came from moments that couldn't have been planned.

It was these spontaneous details that brought authenticity to the collection.

Designed for Real Walks

Throughout the shoot, our British wool boot socks were worn exactly as they were intended.

They accompanied country walks, wandered through fields and followed winding paths around the historic buildings of Le Magny.

Rather than treating them as studio props, we wanted to show them in their natural environment—paired with well-worn boots and clothing chosen for comfort, practicality and timeless style.

Their understated appearance suited the surroundings perfectly.

Nothing felt staged.

Everything felt honest.

More Than Product Photography

Behind every finished campaign lies a collection of unseen moments.

Early starts waiting for the perfect light.

Quiet conversations between shots.

Coffee breaks overlooking open countryside.

Unexpected discoveries while exploring new paths.

These moments rarely appear in the final photographs, yet they shape the atmosphere of the entire collection.

They remind us that great photography is about more than creating beautiful images—it's about capturing genuine experiences.

A Collection Inspired by the Outdoors

Our spring campaign wasn't intended to showcase fashion trends.

It was created to celebrate a slower way of living.

One that values craftsmanship over excess, natural materials over disposable alternatives and meaningful experiences over constant distraction.

Those same principles sit at the heart of every pair of our 100% British wool boot socks.

Whether you're exploring woodland trails, walking through rolling countryside or simply taking time to enjoy the outdoors, they're designed to become part of the journey rather than the focus of it.

Looking Back

As we packed away the cameras and prepared to leave Le Magny, we realised we'd captured more than a collection of photographs.

We'd documented the atmosphere, the landscape and the quiet moments that inspired the campaign.

The images serve as a reminder that the best products don't need dramatic settings or elaborate styling.

Sometimes, all they need is honest craftsmanship, beautiful natural surroundings and the confidence to let both speak for themselves.
